James DeGale vs. Caleb Truax Live

Two British world champions are in action on Saturday night as James DeGale and Lee Selby put their IBF super middleweight and featherweight title on the line in London.

DeGale (23-1-1) fights for the first time since his draw with Badou Jack in January and takes on Caleb Truax (28-3-2) who has been defeated whenever he has stepped up to world level.

Truax meanwhile is getting his second shot at global glory, having been stopped in the 12th round by Daniel Jacobs in their WBA middleweight title fight in 2015.

DeGale is targeting a unification fight with WBC champ David Benavidez next year but first must come through the stern test of his abilities.

Elbiali vs Pascal Live

Tonight at 9 pm ET on FS1, Premier Boxing Champions returns with a light heavyweight main event from Florida, featuring prospect Ahmed Elbiali facing former champion Jean Pascal in a 10-round bout. Former light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal is looking to end his career on a high note Friday night, while unbeaten contender Ahmed Elbiali prepares to make a statement during his first main event on FS1.

Ahmed Elbiali is taking a big next step with this fight, or at least trying to, anyway. Born in Egypt, his family came to the United States when he was young, and he turned pro in 2013 after a relatively short amateur career.

In those few years, he’s racked up a good looking record, in that he’s remained unbeaten and stopped most of his opponents. But just recently has he started to test himself at all as far as opponents go, beating Jackson Junior and Christopher Brooker in 2017.

Tevin Farmer vs. Kenichi Ogawa Live

The bright lights of Las Vegas shine on the junior lightweight division when HBO BOXING AFTER DARK: ORLANDO SALIDO VS. MIGUEL ROMAN, TEVIN FARMER VS. KENICHI OGAWA AND FRANCISCO VARGAS VS. STEPHEN SMITH is seen SATURDAY, DEC. 9 at 10:20 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT) from Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Tevin Farmer is walking a tightrope in his boxing career. Because of the way it began – essentially with no amateur experience, nor a trainer, manager or promoter – he can’t afford to lose again. The culture in boxing is much different than it is in mixed martial arts, where losses are accepted as part of the business. In boxing, lose a couple of early fights and they might as well slap a giant red “L” on one’s back.

The co-main event spotlights Philadelphia’s Tevin Farmer (25-4-1, 5 KOs) and Tokyo’s Kenichi Ogawa (22-1, 17 KOs) in a 12-round world title contest. Farmer was on an 18-bout win streak until he was shot in the hand while attempting to break up an altercation at a party. Now recovered, he seeks to resume his championship quest. Fighting in the U.S. for the first time, Ogawa has won 14 straight bouts following his only loss, in 2012. The fight marks the first shot at a world title for either man.
